The purpose of the Media/Community Relations
Committee is to publicize, promote and strengthen Character Council of Hamburg
and its activities utilizing various media.
Highlights
The Media/Community Relations
Committee oversees the Character Zone feature which appears the last
Thursday of each month in The Sun. Click
here to check out current and past issues. Each month, we include a
comic strip entitled: “Get the Scoop”. Created and drawn by Matt
Heitanen, this strip illustrates the virtue
of the month!
The Media/Community Relations committee has improved and streamlined
the process for distributing Character Virtue Posters in local schools and at
local business. Working in partnership with community groups, Character Council
of Hamburg is now distributing virtue posters on a monthly basis!
Also, the committee is responsible for implementing promotional activity
and increased public relations efforts in various media including 'The
Character Council Connection' featured in The Sun as part of a 12
week series from "Character Matters: How to Help Our Children
Develop Good Judgment, Integrity, and Other Essential Virtue,"
© 2004, by Dr. Thomas Lickona, an internationally reputed character development
expert.
